Call for Papers | Art, Luxury, and Sustainability: Markets in Transition Conference

Sotheby’s Institute of Art, 30 Bedford Square, London
Conference: Friday 7 November 2025
Deadline to apply: Monday 30 June 2025

This one-day conference explores how environmental sustainability is reshaping the art and luxury sectors in response to climate change, ethical concerns, and shifting consumer expectations. It calls for critical proposals that examine both theoretical and practical approaches—from de-growth and regenerative economies to sustainable production and policy reform. Aimed at researchers, practitioners, and professionals, the event seeks to highlight real-world actions, challenge existing models, and foster inclusive dialogue on how these industries can evolve responsibly. Topics include climate strategies, supply chains, digital innovation, activism, and sustainability education.

Please submit an abstract of no more than 300 words for a 25-minute paper, along with a brief biography to Marina Maximova (m.maximova@sia.edu) by Monday 30 June 2025. Successful papers will be notified by Thursday 31 July.
